Cambodia Travel Guide

Cambodia, officially the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a country in Southeast Asia. The official language is Khmer and their population is estimated to be a little over 15 million. While conflict has been ever present in their history they have shown recent growth, especially economically in tourism and garments. As a nation that is still working to modernize see our Cambodia travel guide below to make sure you are prepared for your trip.

They do have their own currency, called the Riel, but conveniently accept the U.S. dollar. Actually, they tend to prefer the dollar since the Riel has lost value due to inflation. One thing to note is that they do not accept U.S. coins and will often give change back in mixed currencies. They will give you U.S. dollars back, but also Riel for anything below one dollar taking the place of U.S. coins. Like several countries in Southeast Asia, you can get a lot of bang for your buck in Cambodia.

Flights

Cambodia has three international airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville. If you are visiting Angkor Wat like we did, you will want to fly into Siem Reap. It is a relatively small airport, but still had the basic amenities you would expect. See our guide linked below on how to find cheap flights.
