Ireland

Ireland Travel Blog

Ireland was on our bucket list for years and lived up to the hype! The rainy weather and iconic rolling green hills were stunning. It was perfect to be able to hike the parks and mountains during the day, and then relax and drink a pint at the pub afterwards. Checkout the rest of our Ireland travel blog below for all of the travel tips you need to plan your next trip.

Flights

Ireland has multiple international airports in various parts of the country including Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Belfast. Several discount airlines have flights to Ireland, so finding cheap flights isn’t uncommon.

When is the best time to go to Ireland?

You can travel to Ireland year round, but if you want to avoid the cold winter temperatures it’s best to go between April to October. While it’s rainy all year, it’s not as bothersome when it’s mildly warm outside. It’s not likely you’ll avoid the rain, but if you want to try April to June tend to be drier months.

The average temperature in the summer months is around 60°F (16°C).

What to pack for Ireland?

Even if you go in the drier months it will likely rain most of the days you’re there, so bring a raincoat and umbrella. You should also bring warm, waterproof hiking boots if you plan to do any hiking, which I highly recommend.

Even the summer months can be chilly, so bring warm layers like hoodies, sweaters, and long sleeve t-shirts. Also, bring protective gear for any cameras and electronics that shouldn’t get wet. It would be a bummer to reach the top of a mountain after hours of hiking just to find that your camera was damaged by the rain.
